The NHS currently offers Covid boosters to people aged 65 and over, those with underlying health conditions that increase their risk of serious illness, and frontline health and social care workers. If you fall into one of these groups and have not had a recent dose, it is worth speaking to a clinician about whether a booster is appropriate for you.
Can I get a Covid vaccine privately?
Yes. If you are not currently eligible for an NHS Covid vaccine but would like one — for example, ahead of travel or simply for peace of mind — a private Covid vaccination may be available at Oakwood Lane Pharmacy. How often will I need a Covid booster?
Covid booster recommendations are updated regularly by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) based on the latest evidence. At present, annual boosters are offered to eligible groups in autumn, ahead of the winter period when respiratory viruses circulate most widely. Are there any side effects from the Covid vaccine?
